After farming in Northland most of their lives, Alan and his wife, Sharron, have been in the dairy business in Canterbury since 2005. In that time, they have developed a reputation for good pasture management and running a profitable operation.
Alan and Sharron employ two families. Henning and Susanne Schritt and Danny and Stella Sales. Henning and Susanne arrived from Germany in 1986 and have two sons, Demetrius who is a professor and Yosef who is studying and working abroad. The Schritts have been living and working at Beechbank since 2007.
Danny and Stella immigrated from the Philippines in 2009 with their children Stella Rae, Angelo and Neil and have been at Beechbank all that time. In 2012 they become residents of NZ along with their older son Dice who joined them then. Dice is living in Christchurch together with Tina and their little boy, Eli.
Alan and Sharron have three daughters, Rachael, Abbie and Casey, who along with their families have all moved south to Rangiora, North Canterbury.
